After graduating from UNH with a BS in Plant Science I wasn’t sure which direction to take.  After a few winters of skiing out west, I quickly returned to the gorgeous seacoast area to work as a landscaper.  Over the years, I have learned, I am a passionate plant lover and garden designer.  I have over 30 years of experience in this industry.

How do I stay fresh in an ever changing industry?  I regularly take classes at Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston, Mass. and Maine Botanic Garden in Boothbay, Maine.  With a busy seasonal calendar, I book numerous visits yearly in advance. In 2015, I was able to visit the lovely Longwood Gardens and Chanticleer Gardens in Pennsylvania and the incredible Royal Botanic Gardens in Scotland and England.  2018 is still being planned! Stay tuned for more info!

The coast of Southern Maine is where I have spent many hours gardening and consulting for private homes/clients and commercial sites.  Commercial sites (such as the picturesque York Harbor Inn) have given me the freedom to design and create seasonal palettes plus implement new gardening trends.

Sustainable gardening is more than a passing fashion.  It’s truly a way of life. What can we do as gardeners to add beauty but leave less of a carbon footprint?  I have given this topic a great deal of thought.  Sustainable gardening interests me and I would love to share my ideas/thoughts with you in your garden development.  Some of my favorite authors are:  Piet Oudolf, Thomas Rainer, and Noel Kingsbury.
